about me,
My name is Alyssa. I have a tendency of laughing when I'm nervous and crying when I'm angry. The world is a fucked up place, but I believe everyone has the ability to make it better -- even if only a tiny bit. I think the best advice I've ever received is to see the good in all people. It takes years sometimes, but eventually everyone will show you a good side of them. People consider me naive for believing the things I do; I say I'm hopeful. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I'm bright -- don't try to play games or underestimate me, you will be surprised.
I live above a family owned business in a wonderful one bedroom loft with my two cats. I work for a doctor & also for my parents whom at this time own a pet supplies store. I know more about animals and the food they eat than you could possibly imagine. Generally I believe the state of Michigan is a decent place to live however, my heart belongs to someone in Chicago... it's just a matter of moving on or simply accepting it.
I'm fairly atypical. I laugh in awkward moments, I make funny faces and I'm generally not afraid to speak my mind. I do what I think is right and I try my hardest not to make anyone upset along the way. I'm easy to get along with and very down to earth. My idea of a good night is some chinese take-out and a movie, curled up on the couch. It's better when there is someone to curl up with you. I don't depend on anyone but myself to make me feel complete, but falling in love is one of the best feelings in the world and everyone should experience it at least once.
I have wonderful friends. I think time spent dwelling on a bad situation is time well wasted. I've never underestimated the power of a good hug; they really do make things seem much better. I have been through plenty in my life to know that which does not kill you only makes you stronger. It's true. If there is ever a song you should listen to, it's Sunscreen by Baz Luhrmann.
